Do you know the difference between a Bi-Axial and Bi-Level Medeco Lock?

If not the following information will clarify a wide misconception persisting in the South Florida market:

Medeco is the best high security lock manufacturer in the world, there is no denying this fact. The Maxum, the most popular of its locks is perhaps the most widely installed and is responsible for protecting millions of families and business. It protects at the door level having anti-bump, anti-drill, and anti-picking mechanisms, but also at the key level with the famous restricted duplication system patented by Medeco. But High Security comes at a higher price level.

For this reason, Medeco saw the need to compete with lower quality locks in the market and created the Bi-Level version of the Maxum Bi-Axial Lock, maintaining the restricted key duplication feature of the lock set while rescinding all its anti-burglary design features, thus, catering to the more budget oriented customer with great success.

It is very important that you as a consumer be mindful about the difference between these two options, the Bi-Axial and Bi-Level Locks. It is common in South Florida, for many Locksmith companies to bypass educating customers about the different options in quality and pricing to only offer the lower quality Bi-Level option, which is less expensive than the Bi-Axial, without clarifying what they are really installing.

We at ASAP Lock & Safe always educate you about the benefits of High Security and offer several budget scenarios.

For a better understanding about the difference between the Medeco Bi-Axial and Bi-Level locks, see the following table:

There is mystic to safes, and when they happen to be closed with no way of opening it but the graceful intervention of a safecracker, the mystic is two-fold, well at least for the hired safecracker. Any safe opening expert can tell you that all the patience and the hard work needed to open a safe is worth it when at last the sound of the lock opening is heard, it is a moment, they would tell you, in which adrenaline rushes through their heads. It has nothing to do with what might be found inside the safe and everything to do with the fulfillment of the safecraker’s destiny.

In this case one of our safe opening experts was sent to open this Mosler Safe and in an hour’s time the job was done.

There used to be a time when people hid their cash, guns, and jewelry, below their beds, or inside a drawer, in the freezer, or in their closet. Those times are no longer. Today is necessary to protect your family consciously and this article gives light to 3 of the most common burglary statistics with hopes of motivating you to take action towards securing your property and well being. If you acknowledge the following 3 facts and act accordingly your house will be definitely safer.
1) Most Break-Ins Occur Between 10 am and 3 PM

Common thieves work the same daytime hours that everyone else does that is why most break ins occur between 10 AM and 3 PM which is when people are at work and their homes are left alone. Assume that when you leave your house during the day that’s when it’s more exposed and at danger. Take all precautionary steps like closing doors, locks, and windows, activating alarms and surveillance systems. Employ some tactics and techniques to make it seem like you are home when you are not. Leave a light on, a radio playing, and some toys on the entrance. Today there are even some gadgets that can help with this like an intermittent light that simulates a television while turned on.

2) Most Burglars are in and out in only 8 to 12 minutes

Regardless of the presence of an alarm or security system most burglars are in and out of the house before the 10 minute mark. Having an alarm definitely puts pressure on the robber, but they can still do harm before police arrives. Nevertheless, for the average family this is a comforting fact because it means that with reasonable security measures major losses can be avoided. Added to high security locks and an alarm system, the use of properly installed safes, and video surveillance systems is an added hurdle that can reduce a loss to insignificant levels.
3) The Master Bedroom Is the First Target Most of the Time
This means they breach the house through a window. If you are not planning to install impact windows which are great to dissuade burglars, there are other things you can do to prevent a major loss if the break-in occurs, like installing a safe in the master bedroom, installing high security locks in the closets and compartments, or even using decoy items with a lesser value. A common technique used in Latin-American countries where crime is rampant is the installation of a smaller safe with some items in it to hand out to burglars as a pleasing ploy, while the real stuff is hidden somewhere else. Consider hidden wall safes or floor safes.

Whichever the case, what is important is to take action. We know, thinking about security all the time is not fun for everyone –it is for us-, but if you are the head of your family it is a necessity, just get into your homeland-security mind-frame and create a security shield around your loved ones. Then call ASAP Locksmith, your Hollywood FL Locksmith, and we’ll help you implement your plan.

Oh, what great year it was for all of us at A.S.A.P. Lock & Safe. And Ho, Ho, Ho, Santa came to reward us. We went to a an enchanted house for celebration, there was not a corner of it without a Christmas decoration. It was magical. Then Santa came and gave presents to all the kids; he then insisted he wanted a picture with the A.S.A.P. team and we all felt the love. It was a great year for us, but we know that with hard work the next one will be even better. Happy Holidays to all, and have a wonderful 2012.

If you have driven around the tri-city area of Aventura, Hallandale Beach, and Hollywood with all certainty you have seen ASAP Locksmith’s Bus Stop Benches in US 1 and Hallandale Beach Boulevard (It’s impossible to miss them). They direct commuters to our Local Shop at 222 N Federal Hwy, across the street from Dunkin Donuts.

We have been there for more than 15 years.

Once you enter our store you’ll be greeted by Armando, who has been the store manager for 8 years now and is kind of an icon in the area. People know him by name and recognize him in the street when they see him, no wonder, since he has helped thousands of customers in the surrounding neighborhoods.

But what is it that we do to claim the title of best locksmith shop in the tri-city area of Aventura, Hallandale, & Hollywood FL? It’s really simple; we just love protecting your property and your well being. In other words, we are passionate about your security.

When you stop at any of our two locations in Hallandale or Dania for locksmith services you can rest assured you will find the most complete selection of keys for duplication, whether for your home or your business, or for your car.

A key copy might be a simple thing, but one of the most common complaints about locksmith shops is: “hey my key copies didn’t work”. That’s because the machines were not calibrated or the technician doing the copy was not trained properly. We at ASAP Locksmith, understand that big things start from simple things, that is why we make sure our key duplicates are flawless.

Key Inventory, we have anyone you need.

And we strife every day to instill that work ethic in all our employees, that’s the only way we know how to succeed. And now that we are re-launching our website and upgrading the company in all technological areas ASAP Locksmith, your Aventura Locksmith, is more passionate than ever to provide service and protection to you our customers.

Floor Safes have many benefits, in fact they are the preferred option for many customers, and no wonder about it. If you wish to conceal your safe installing it inside the ground makes it virtually impossible for burglars to find it, and that in and of itself is the deciding factor for many. Factors to consider before installing a floor safe, are: additional charge for installation, quick accessibility to the contents of the safe, and some concerns about flooding. However, when the conditions are right, there is nothing like an in-ground safe to provide security.

We were recently contacted by a Miami based retailer to upgrade the garbage disposal room door in one of their busiest locations. It was very old and they were having all sorts of problems since the door we were replacing was rusting, along with the fact that garbage companies treat the doors, well, like garbage, and it is going to deteriorate faster than a regular commercial door, or an indoor commercial door. We took our measurements, made some adjustments, and voila, our locksmith technicians did a magnificent job.

See the Before and After pictures below:
